I do love a fun pair of socks. I often buy a new pair of socks if I am on holiday or visiting somewhere for the day and I see a nice pair. Sometimes it’s the colour that catches my eye, sometimes the design, but I always look to buy good quality pairs because if I like a pair, I want to be able to wear them for a while. So when Chatty Feet got in touch about their fun ranges of socks, I was keen to try them out. I did like that they did socks for all the family and I was able to pick out some for myself and some for H (who also likes a fun pair of socks).
If I can I do like to pick out some appropriate socks. Chatty Feet has a great range of designs and there was plenty of scope to find some socks that suited. For H I picked out a Kutsushita Hokusai pair with the characteristic wave motif. H was just about to head off to Japan on a school trip and it seemed very apt to take these with him to wear there. One of H’s A levels, and a real passion of his, is Classics. He’s really enjoyed classical history and he’s planning to study ancient history at university. So another easy choice for him was the Platoe Socks featuring the philosopher Plato. H has liked wearing the socks: they are good quality, wash well and they make you smile when you put them on.
Following on the same sort of theme I picked out some socks to suit me too. I love reading and art so those were two themes that feature on a number of Chatty Feet;s socks. I went for a couple of literary themed socks in the end. I picked out design of William Shakes-Feet Socks which feature a local (ish) boy made good and they are a great red colour for the most part too. Then I choose the Charlotte Brontoë Socks as I’ve read all her books and they were an unusual orange colour. I do like to ring the changes when I can. I’ve found them very comfy to wear. I took my new socks off to Rome and was wearing them during long days of walking round the sites. They held up well to that sort of pressure and they kept my feet comfortable. The reason they do this so well is that they are made from high quality Combed cotton (75%) . The production process involves removing dirt and seeds and then lining up the cotton fibres (carding) so they all lie in the same direction. This helps them be soft and feel great on your skin. I’ve found they keep their colour and softness well after washing, so I’m very pleased with them and would buy Chatty Socks again in the future.
